At Telesa, we are constantly monitoring behaviour and world trends to make our products relevant to the current global market. Based on our extensive research, we have seen a world trend that supports easy accessibility. There is a high demand for mobile accessibility and solutions to make a person’s life, both in the personal and business aspect, easier.
In response to these global trends, Telesa has created a mobile application on our Resource Management Service platform that satisfies these demands. This feature entails a push strategy to your smartphone that allows you to manage information and performance on the application as opposed to visiting a website.

Enables Visibility
Our latest RMS features are being released in three phases. Our first phase, which has been released, focuses on visibility. This phase allows the ability to see your spend and current trends to determine the availability of funds for future usage. This feature further allows you to see what phone is on your contract and when this contract is coming up for renewal. You will continually be kept up to date, removing the time wasted on making phone calls to receive information regarding your phone.
Built In Security Health Protocol
The RMS mobile application has a built in security health protocol, which prevents access to the application without having the correct credentials in place. These credentials include the handsets that are allocated to your employees. If their phone is stolen and the phone lock feature is enabled, the SIM card may be removed and attempted to be used elsewhere. With the RMS solution in place, the SIM will be rendered useless.
From a Human Resource point of view, we use the IMEI number to do the authentication for that handset to connect to that user’s profile. We have a one to one relation between the actual physical handset and the cell number to be able to link the two together to give the employee access.
We have the employee database which brings in the cell number and employee details together. We then have a correlation between these 3 databases to provide a foolproof method of tracking employee devices.
Why Did We Introduce This Security Protocol?
Based on our research, we noticed an alarming trend of employees pawning their company issued phones to purchase a cheaper phone to use.
The RMS solution ensures that employees can no longer do this. The security features allow a company to have control over this, as an employee’s company issued phone is linked to them. Therefore, an employee will no longer be able to access their phone as the IME number will no longer be valid. The RMS platform allows an employee’s usage to be locked if their handset has changed, so that even phone calls will no longer be able to be made.
The purpose of this security feature is to try and control questionable behaviour of employees to ensure that the company’s resources that have been spent are being used according to business regulations.

Phase 2:
Phase 2 on the RMS solution will allow you to do the ordering and managing of handsets via the platform itself. It will allow employees to see when their headsets are up for renewal and they will be able to view the company’s HR policy to determine which headsets they will be allowed to purchase.
The request to purchase a new headset will then be put through an authorization process on the management side of the platform. Once approved, the order will be placed via the platform to the service provider and the order will be tracked until its delivery to the employee’s address. The RMS platform gives complete visibility of the process on your phone, from the new contract ordering process to the new handset ordering process.
Service providers’ change in management tools to support mobile behaviour management
These features are being implemented to enable cell phone contracts to be managed more effectively. In other words, to determine what an employee can do with their phone. Service providers are introducing specialised services at additional costs. This feature allows an administrator to control the use of these additional services. An administrator can determine which features available on a network can be activated or deactivated for the company’s employees.
As an example, if an employee attends a conference overseas and would like to activate the roaming feature on their phone – this request will go through an authorization process, where an administrator can determine whether they would like to accept or decline this request.
Relevance Of RMS During Pandemic
Mobility is becoming crucial for companies. Employees are required to have a handset or device to give them optimal functionality. Businesses are faced with the decision to either provide handsets or require that employees use their own devices. Should your company provide the handsets, the RMS platform serves as an effective business tool as it provides the ability to track the device.
The Covid-19 pandemic has fundamentally changed the way we work, as employees have been forced to work remotely. This furthers the need to understand what employees are using their company issued handsets for. The current tools that are available on the various networks are few and have little functionality to control this. Business tools need to be put in place to support a remote working environment. The control and management provided by the RMS platform supports remote working environments and allows effective handset management.
