Consolidating Siloed Platforms Can Save Your Business Time and Money

It’s common knowledge that organisations are always on the look for out for ways to streamline their operations, to reduce their costs and to maximise their productivity. However, what isn’t common knowledge is how siloed platforms are preventing this from happening and can end up doing the complete opposite. These siloed platforms can lead to inefficiencies that waste time, cause frustration and inflate operational costs.

Issues with Siloed Systems / Platforms

Multiple platforms each promising to increase productivity may sound wonderful to one person but in reality it’s an extra platform that your employees have to be trained on, have to switch between, have to duplicate their work efforts on and need to data-hunt on as the information that they’re looking for is likely scattered across each platform. In addition to this is limited visibility. It becomes quite challenging trying to gain a holistic view of an organisations performance if the data you need isn’t in one centralised place. This can lead to inaccurate costly decisions being made. To keep on the topic of cost, multiple platforms means multiple software licenses, additional employee training, additional support and time and resources spent on contract negotiations and renewals. What many also fail to realise is that the time wasted on navigating through siloed platforms also costs the organization. Employees become less efficient and either need more time to get less done or even need additional colleagues to assist with the work load, all increasing operational costs and extending deadlines.

Multiple siloed platforms aren’t wonderful, but what is is implementing 1 master platform that integrates into, and often replaces, your multiple siloed platforms. This can lead to significant savings across the organisation in both time and money.

By consolidating information from multiple systems into 1 unified platform, employees will be able to access all the information necessary to them and their tasks by logging into a single platform. This rids the need to navigate their way through multiple siloed platforms, saving time and money and boosting their efficiency. Some platforms, like all of ours, are built with automation features that take over manual, mundane and repetitive tasks, giving employees the ability to focus on their core tasks.

When less platforms are needed, less licenses are needed as well. This decreases operational costs but also reduces the need for training, support and contract negotiations and renewals. From an IT departments point of view, managing and troubleshooting multiple siloed platforms places quite a strain on their resources and distracts them from focusing on strategic initiatives so the less there are to manage, the more strategic this department can become. The last point is on data. If all / majority of the data needed can be accessed in one place where the risk of errors and inconsistencies are lowered, true data-driven decisions can be made that act in favour of the organisation rather than against it.
